I will fight again in 3 weeks for the  main event of Fitenite in Costa Rica.My opponent will be Jeffery Lopez,a local fighter.I don't know really who he is but as always i gonna respect my opponent and i gonna prepare this fight seriously .

Sebastien "the lynx"Garguier,my french friend from Cobra kai,will fight on the same card too.He will fight against Randall Jimenez.

My cornerman will be  Chris Horodecki.Chris will comment the show also.

Another Ultimate Cage Wars has come and went and Troy Scheer’s Team Ring Shark went undefeated once again.  The team, eminating from Saskatoon’s Scheer’s MMA, went 3-0 with Warren Phillips, Scott Richardson, and Jose Rodriguez all finishing their opponents.  The team is now an undefeated 10-0 in Winnipeg competition.

In the main event, Ferrid Kheder from Joe Stevenson’s Cobrai gym in Victorville, California, knocked out Canuckles’ Graydon Tannas with a big right hook.  Unfortunately, Winnipeg’s Chris Stranger lost his Winnipeg debut to Jay Alexander in a three round standup battle.

Round 1 starts with Graydon being knocked down right away but he bounces right back up.  Kheder looks good with a big right hook and solid leg kicks. Tannas responds with multiple jabs.  The fights engage in a clinch and Kheder has his back against the cage.  Kheder, an Olympic judoka, sweeps Tannas’ leg and drops Tannas to the mat.  From Tannas’ guard, Kheder drops some big right hands.  Tannas scrambles back up but Kheder trips him back down and the round ends with Kheder grounding and pounding on Tannas.

Round 2 starts with Tannas charging at Kheder.  As the two engage, Kheder takes Tannas down and lands in Tannas’ half guard.  Kheder moves to full mount and is bumped off to side control before he is bucked off and Tannas is on top.  Kheder strongarms Tannas to the mat and lands in side control.  Kheder throws huge rights and tries for a Kimura.

As round 3 starts, Tannas and Kheder are trading in the center of the cage.  Kheder lands a huge right hand that knocks out Tannas.  Kheder jumps on Tannas and throws a few more for good measure before the ref stops the fight. 

Tonight i won the main event at UCW in Canada by KO (punch) in the 3rd round.I knocked down my opponent (Graydon tannas) in the first round with a left hook then i controlled the fight on the ground.In the second round ,i took him down with a judo throw and controlled the fight on the ground.When we started the 3rd round,my coach told me to keep the fight on my feet  to try to know him out,so i started the 3rd round with a couple of punches and one of them (a right over hand) knocked him out...

It was my 7th win streak and my second this year by KO.It was a great night for me,but not only for me....In the same card,my french friend ,Sebastien "the lynx" Garguier from Cobra Kai,won his fight by tapout (Guillotine) in the first round....

 INFO: Sebastien and i are going to fight again on april 4th at Fitenite in Costa Rica.Thanx 4 all ur support.

Just after my last fight that i won by ankle lock at C3 fights in Oklahoma on feb 28th,i went to do some judo in Boston with my friend Jimmy Pedro,american world champion.I m a MMA fighter,but i m still a judoka and i like to practice judo .Then i went to New York to see and support a couple of friends who fought at the New York judo open.Today (monday march 9th),i came back to my gym (Cobra Kai) in California .I m getting ready to fight at UCW next friday (march 13th) against Graydon Tannas for the main event at 170 lbs.Irvin Bounds ,my coach, and Joe Stevenson will be my cornermen.

My friend,Sebastien Garguier from France gonna fight also and will represent Cobra Kai.That will be his second professional fight under 170 lbs.He will fight against Chad Kozicki .

After this bout,i  gonna fight again at  FITENITE in Costa Rica on april 4th for the co-main event,i don t know my opponent yet but i m going to fight again at 170 lbs.On the same card, Sebastien Garguier will fight Salazar Ludwig at 170 lbs.Then i will stay in Costa Rica a couple of weeks to do some judo and mma seminars.

Ferrid Kheder and  Joe “Daddy” Stevenson  to appear at Ultimate Cage Wars this Friday

   Friday march thirteenth will see the arrival in Winnipeg of one of the most promising up and coming  MMA fighters to come out of UFC’s submission specialist Joe “Daddy” Stevenson’s Cobra Kai gym. Ferrid Kheder, a former Olympic judoka, will come up against Graydon Tannis, who fights for the Cannuckles MMA gym in Calgary, at Ultimate Cage Wars 15. Accompanying Kheder to the cage will be Joe Stevenson himself, who recently battled Diego Sanchez at UFC 95 and oversees a great deal of Ferrid’s training in Victorville. The “Friday The Thirteenth Massacre”, which also features a comeback to the cage by Peguis born Chris Stranger, will be held at the Winnipeg Convention Center and promises to be a great night of fights.

  Kheder comes to the UCW cage on the heels of success. Having recently knocked out Drew Fickett, a veteran of the UFC who has emerged victorious against such big names as Kenny Florian and Josh Koscheck, Kheder’s career in mixed martial arts seems destined to skyrocket. Born in France, to a Tunisian father and a Spanish mother, the multicultural Kheder, discovered a love of Judo at the tender age of four. After obtaining his black belt in 1990, the recently turned 34-year-old found success representing both France and Tunisia on an international level. Some of the highlights in his early career as a judoka include becoming a multiple national and world cup champion, winning “The Tournoi  de Paris”, which is touted as being one of the toughest judo tournaments in the world and of course representing France at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.  In 2005, After all of his achievements in judo, Ferrid decided that he was ready for a new challenge and the sport of MMA seemed like a logical progression for the welterweight Frenchman.

 Ferrid Kheder is not just a physical athlete, he is highly intelligent and loves the technical aspects of his craft. He is a real believer in the training of his mind as well as his body, his masters degree in sports science from the University of Paris in 1999 shows the commitment that Ferrid has to the mental part of his training. It was his thoughtful nature that initially drew Kheder to MMA. Not only did Ferrid love the variety of fighting styles and new skills open to an MMA fighter, but he was also drawn to the sports relative purity. As he stated in a 2006 interview with Judo MMA “The truth always appears at the end of the fight. No one can deny it; it’s the stronger of the round who wins. It’s not always the case in terms of judo, where there are still some riggers.” MMA fighters are constantly evolving, trying to learn new techniques to surprise their opponents and this is a challenge that Kheder relishes. Although many of the skills used in the sport of Judo, in particular throwing, imbalance and submission are easily transferable to MMA, Ferrid has had to work on his movement and striking ability in particular in order to make the transition to professional mixed martial arts.

  Ferrid’s quest for knowledge lead him to train and compete in Australia at the Lion’s Den and then make the move to America in august 2007, training with the famed team Quest so that he could expose himself to a higher quality of competition. After initially preparing for his fights with Muay Thai and grappling, in 2008 Kheder ventured to Joe Stevenson’s Cobra Kai in order to improve his boxing, kickboxing and above all his jiu-jitsu skills under the watchful eye of trainer Irvin Bounds.  Widely regarded as the most useful style of fighting in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu relies on submission moves, such a Joe Stevenson’s highly successful guillotine choke and works on the principal that you do not have to physically injure your opponent in order to be victorious. As a result of Kheder’s hard work, he has received a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to add to his considerable Judo skills and has posted a variety of victories ranging from knocking out Will Cunningham at “Cage Fighting Championship 1” in 2007, to submitting Elton Brown at Bushido last year using a rear naked choke. Without a doubt just as Ferrid’s range of skills continues to grow, so does the degree of success that he experiences in the cage. Kheder is however not concerned with the accumulation of titles and trophies; he views these things simply as by-products of well-contested bouts. He is above all concerned with being a good representative for both the sports of Judo and MMA, stating “I just want to prove that the intelligence of fighting comes first, not violence.”

  The fighters and coaches at Cobra Kai, Kheder included, have spent much of the past few months helping Joe Stevenson prepare for his UFC fight in February, but since that event climaxed the attention has shifted to Ferrid. In addition to enlisting the help of his famous team mate, Kheder has continued to seek advice and direction from outside sources such as Olympic Judo medalist Jimmy Pedro and fellow competitor Sebastian Garguier, who will also compete at UCW 15. With a corner man like Joe Stevenson and offers for fights being proposed to Kheder on an international scale, it seems only a matter of time before Kheder, known to his fans as “The Hurricane”, achieves worldwide notoriety. His scheduled fight against Graydon Tannas this Friday night is sure to be fascinating and is not to be missed. Tonight (feb 28th),i got my 6th streak wins ,i won my fight in Oklahoma City at C3 FIGHTS by submission (Ankle lock) in the first round against a wrestler  Calvin Huzing who never fought before in MMA.When he tried to take me down,i controled him on the cage and took him down with a judo throw (te guruma) before to finish him with an ankle lock.On the same show, my team mates : Eric Chambaro and Brandon Hastings won their fight by submission  too....Both won by RNC.It was a good night for Cobra Kai.....Now i am going to stay focused on my next fight.I m fighting  in Canada (UCW ) on march 13th for the main event against Graydon Tannas at 170 lbs.To prepare this fight,i  gonna go to Boston to practice judo with Jimmy Pedro ( American world champion , 2 times olympic medalist and 4 times olympian) .Thanks  to Joe Daddy Stevenson and Irvin Bounds who as always helped me a lot for this bout and to my sponsors: Self InflectedKlothing (SIK),TAPOUT,NOGI and JIDAL.

Seven-time UFC veteran, Drew Fickett (36-8) is due back inside the MMA cage on January 30 when he takes on 2000 Olympic Judoka and Jungle Wars Brazil veteran, Ferrid Kheder (9-4).

Fickett vs. Kheder will be part of the C3 Fights promotion’s collaboration with Lucky Star Casino and Innervisions at Knockout-Rockout Weekend in Clinton, Oklahoma when some of the most popular hair bands of the 80’s including RATT, Dokken and Warrant will be playing live on stage. The fights are on Friday evening and the metal starts on Saturday. Who would want to miss this?!

Fickett fought seven times in 2008 and went 4-3. He has not yet fought in 2009. Kheder fought eight times in 2008 and went 6-2. Also on the card is IFL veteran, Gerald “Hurricane” Harris (9-2) taking on IFL and WEC veteran, Travis Doerge (4-6). A female fight is also scheduled to be on the card.

Today,the promoter of UCW,the organization where i fought and won 2times already has proposed me to fight for the main event of his next show on march 13th against Graydon Tannas at 170 lbs.The fight will be on 3 rounds of 5 min .My cornermen will be Joe Stevenson and Irvin Bounds.My friend,Sebastien Garguier will fight on the same show at 170lbs but we don t know the name of his opponent yet.

INFOS: I will fight one time before this show probably on february but i don't have any fight confirmed yet.I have a couple of options, i will let you know when i will be sure about that...

Kamelancien un des meilleurs rappeurs francais actuel est un adepte du MMA.En effet,deja grappleur,il envisage de debuter une carriere en MMA.Ces debuts en combat libre,devraient se faire lors du prochain contender de Atch a Paris en Fevrier....

After one month in Costa Rica,and 2 fights ,i took one week off....Tomoroow (monday dec 29th) i m going back to the gym "Cobra Kai" where all the fighters  gonna keep their focus on Joe Stevenson's  fight.Joe gonna fight on february 21st against Diego Sanchez at UFC 95 under 156 lbs (71 kg).Joe lost his last fight against Kenny Florian,but he wasn't really ready for this fight cause he got a cut (3 cm) on his face 4 weeks before the fight and he couldn t do any sparring....but UFC didn't let him the choice...he had to fight ,he was the co main event...

So this time,evrybody gonna try to help him to make him ready to get the win....Joe looked already in shape this week and also confident,he told me he was really motivated for this fight and he would be ready to beat Diego Sanchez on  february who gonna fight for his first time outside the country and under 155lbs....

 My potential next fights:

 1)  Jan 30th ( C3 fights) or February 5th (Apocalypse).

 2) End of february against Leonardo Gonzalez  at  Fitenite in Costa Rica.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY !!!!

I won my 2nd fight in Costa Rica in 2 weeks.I won by Rear Naked Choke (RNC) on the first round  against Elton Brown. It was an opposition of style,Elton is one of the best panamerican greco roman wrestler (3rd at the panamerican championship 2008 and selectionned at the olympic games) and was really tall (6.2ft or 1m90). We started the fight with a couple of punches but quickly we decided to try to get the clinch. Elton took me down but couldn't control me on the ground,after 2mn,i took him down with an o-ouchi gari and finish the fight on the ground with a RNC  (tapout at 3:20).

I m so happy to finish the year with a new win. I fought 8 times this year i won 6 times and lost 2 times by decision (2 closed decision in Jungle fight in Brazil).I wanna say "Merci" to all the people and sponsors who helped me this year : Irvin Bounds,Joe stevenson,Dan Henderson,Heath Sims,Cobra kai Victorville,Team Quest Temecula,Jess the Joker Liaudin,Alberto crane,Razi Dragon,Fightway,Antony Rea, la Snake team,SIK,NOGI and all the people who support me .....

Mon dec 15th: JUDO/MMA (GI or not) IWANAMI 6h30 to 9PM (20$/student)

Tuesday dec 16th: JUDO (GI) Bodyline Gym SANTA ANA 7pm t0 9PM (20$/student)

Wed dec 17th: JUDO/MMA (GI or not) SANTA ANA 5-6h30 Kids (judo) and 6h30PM to 9PM (adults) (20$/student)

I will fight next friday under 175 lbs in San Jose  against ELTON BROWN (6-3-0) a greco roman wrestler from Panama who fought in olympic games.I will let you know more info this week.
